Daisy Peterson Sweeney was a member of the Quebec Music Teachers’ Association

Daisy Peterson Sweeney was a member of the Quebec Music Teachers’ Association, an organization composed of mainly private music teachers many of whom teach at colleges, conservatories, and universities. The Association’s aim is to “encourage and provide the highest calibre of music education possible and to promote high standards of music in each community of the province of Quebec.”

Daisy Peterson Sweeney was mostly known as simply, “Mrs. Sweeney.” Many people do not know that the teacher Mrs. Sweeney was also a piano and organ student throughout most of her life. She studied piano with Paul de Markey and Karl Steiner and organ with Philip Motley.

As a member of the Quebec Music Teachers’ Association, Mrs. Sweeney took advantage of professional development sessions offered by the association.
